November the 13th, 2024 – Rimac is set to deliver tens of thousands of drive systems on an annual basis for giants BMW and Ceer.

As Mladen Miletic/Poslovni Dnevnik writes, Rimac Technology is scheduled to deliver electric drive systems for the models of the Saudi manufacturer Ceer, the first manufacturer of electric vehicles in Saudi Arabia. These drive systems will be produced on an automated line that will be located in Rimac Technology’s production facility at Jankomir in Zagreb.

“Rimac’s global reputation and expertise in the design of electric powertrains fits perfectly with our strategic goals of partnering with global leaders in delivering high-end electric vehicles. We also aim to revolutionise the automotive industry in Saudi Arabia,” revealed James DeLuca, CEO of Ceer. Ceer is otherwise backed by Hon Hai Precision and Public Investment Fund (PIF). The latter is of the world’s largest funds which also announced a hefty investment in Rimac’s company Project 3 Mobility back in February.

The deal with Ceer is a sign of the further development of Rimac Technology’s business from the production of high-performance technology in limited quantities to large-scale projects like partnerships with BMW, Porsche, and now Ceer. It represents a huge step forward from the already impressive but small-scale projects of the Rimac Nevera, Pininfarina Battista, Aston Martin Valkyrie and Koenigsegg Regera.

Rimac Technology also recently announced cooperation with the BMW Group for the development and production of battery systems for future BMW models. It also signed contracts for additional projects with European car manufacturers.

The chief executive officer of Rimac Technoloy, Croatian entrepreneur Mate Rimac, believes that cooperation with Ceerafurther strengthens Rimac Technology’s global ambitions in the field of electrification.

“This year alone, Rimac Technology announced several key partnerships, including collaborations with the BMW Group and Ceer. They will result in the production of tens of thousands of electric drive and battery systems for the world’s leading manufacturers. With more exciting projects in the pipeline, we’ve strategically invested in our production facilities right here in Croatia, including in the Rimac Campus and supporting infrastructure, which will soon be operating at full capacity,” said Rimac.

Ceer is otherwise the first car brand ever to produce electric vehicles in Saudi Arabia. It will design, manufacture and sell a range of vehicles for customers in Saudi Arabia and the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa) including sedans and large SUVs.
