“Judging by everything, this will not be the only such contract this year, next week we are sending first test benches to Qatar, USA and Switzerland”
Young entrepreneur and innovator from Solin Ivan Mrvoš has achieved another success and managed to sell his solar bench to Australia. Mrvoš’s smart benches can use solar energy to charge smartphones, have wireless internet and also serve as street lighting, Večernji List reported on July 14, 2016.
“Today I can officially announce that two weeks ago a distribution contract of the Steora smart benches between the Include company and Australian Mtk Renewable Energy Investment company. A total of 2,700 benches in the next five years will be delivered, while the contract value is around 5.33 million Euro,” Mrvoš wrote, the founder of the Include company, on his Facebook profile.
He added that these are the “results of continuous work of 20 young people who gave their 100% for this company, with some working 24 hours a day for 0 bonuses and stayed with us regardless of the fact that others said this would never be a large project.” He thanked the General Consul in Australia Dubravko Belavić as he found a partner “in less than a week.”
“Judging by everything, this will not be the only such contract this year, next week we are sending first test benches to Qatar, USA and Switzerland,” Mrvoš wrote in his status update.
The Steora smart bench draws its energy from solar panels installed beneath the seating surface, has an integrated cooling system that enables the bench to remain comfortable for seating in all conditions, has an installed ambient light that adapts to the time of day, year and weather conditions, charges smartphones through USB adapters, 4G internet is available up to 4 metres from the bench, the Steora.com webpage states.
