SPAR Opens New Supermarket, Employs 38 New Workers

A new shopping addition for Umag.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 22nd of March, 2018, the specialties of SPAR in Umag include around 250 different products from Italian manufacturers under the brand DESPAR and DESPAR Premium.

Today, the popular SPAR chain opened its very first supermarket in Umag, otherwise the company’s fourth selling point in Istria.

The opening of the new supermarket gave the local economy a bit of a boost with the employment of 38 new workers, while the store itself offers its customers almost 12,000 locally made products, giving the local economy a further, considerable lift by engaging with and subsequently promoting local producers by placing their products on their shelves, as opposed to just pandering to big name brands.
