More good news from Split shipyard.

Split Shipyard has today launched a new ship named “Carpe Diem”. It is a vessel for nautical tourism built for domestic customer, the “Berekin” business from Duć. The launching ceremony was attended by representatives of the customer. The ship godmother Laura Nazor cut the rope which released the champagne bottle and symbolically “launched” the ship into the sea, reports Dalmatinski Portal on September 4, 2015.

“First we bought a ‘trabaccolo’ for the transportation of tourists, and we have managed to succeed in the business, due to a lot of hard work and many sacrifices. With the great help of the Riva Agency from Zadar, which has helped us in this project, we were able to build a new boat which will sail in the Zadar maritime area. Family is getting larger and larger, new children are coming, so I hope that they will continue the tradition of seafaring which was started by our ancestors”, said Ante Škarica, the owner of the business.

For the investor, the Brodosplit shipyard has produced a steel hull and superstructure of the ship, with the net weight of 103 tons, the overall length of 36.15 metres, a width of eight metres and a draft of 2.50 metres.

This is the eighth “mini cruise-ship” in a series of passenger ships intended for nautical tourism which have been built by the Split shipyard since 2012 for domestic customers from the surrounding areas.
