Are the good times returning to Hvar’s flagship hotel chain?
Revenues of Sunčani Hvar have increased by 34 percent in the third quarter compared to the same period last year, to a total of 223 million kuna, with profits recording an even stronger growth, the tourist company reported on Friday, according to Poslovni.hr on October 23, 2015.
Sunčani Hvar profits from operations amounted to about 107 million kuna, which is 70 million kuna or 180 percent more than at the end of the third quarter last year.
“Operating profits confirm that the company has entered a phase of profitable operations and demonstrate successful implementation of ambitious goals and positioning of the company at the very top of the Croatian tourist industry”, claims the statement of Sunčani Hvar.
The company points out that there was an overall increase in the number of overnight stays by 8 percent compared to the same period last year, with guests primarily coming from developed markets of Western Europe, the Scandinavian countries and other continents. The greatest number of guests had arrived from the United Kingdom and the USA, which represented 33 percent of all overnight stays.
“The business results of Sunčani Hvar in the third quarter of 2015 prove that the conclusion of the pre-bankruptcy settlement was not just a temporary, but a long-term solution, which ensured financial stability of the company, strengthened its market position and fueled further growth and development of competitive tourist products”, concludes the company statement.
