This year, Valamar has opened up to 600 new jobs and will employ about 6,600 employees from Istria and Kvarner all the way down to Dubrovnik.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 30th of April, 2018, during the first quarter of 2018, Valamar Riviera achieved remarkably good business results due to the Easter holidays falling earlier on in the year, as well as a successful realisation of a number of events in both Krk and Dubrovnik, thus recording a 39% increase in sales revenue from 28 million kuna to 39 million kuna.
In line with increased demand and the active management of sales channels and prices, an impressive 106,083 overnight stays were acheived, and the average daily cost amounted to 360 kuna, a 27% increase when compared to what was recorded in 2017. The results taken in the first quarter are not truly indicative at a year’s level, as most of the tourist traffic takes place in the second and third quarter.
As part of a three-year investment cycle up until the year 2020, worth two billion kuna, ongoing investments worth over 700 million kuna are currently being finalised, and these cash injections are an important driver of both growth and positive expectations for the upcoming season.
The key investments for this year are related to the completion of the Valamar Girandella Resorta in Rabac, as well as Valamar Girandella Maro Suites 5* recently, marking the opening of the very first Kinderhotel in Valamar’s rich and ever expanding portfolio. Other items on the ”menu” are the repositioning of the Valamar Argosy Dubrovnik Hotel, the renovation of the Valamar Imperial hotel in Rab, and the continuation of investment in camps in Istria and on the island of Krk.
As previously stated, this year, Valamar has opened up to 600 new jobs and will employ about 6,600 employees from Istria and Kvarner all the way down to Dubrovnik. This season, Valamar will also open up its fourth hotel for seasonal workers, and, in line with its high quality accommodation facilities in both Krk and Rabac, “Valamar House” will soon open its doors to seasonal workers in two locations in Poreč.
