Mate Rimac getting support from local authorities in Velika Gorica
The City of Velika Gorica has invited Mate Rimac to build a research and production centre in the city because it believes that it has the best conditions for implementation of his projects. The office of the mayor says that the official invitation for a meeting has been sent to Rimac Automobili, together with a proposal for cooperation on the project of the construction of a research and production centre, reports Index.hr on March 4, 2016.
“Mr Rimac has expressed his interest in the construction of such a centre, and we believe that Velika Gorica is the city with the best conditions for the construction of such a centre near Zagreb. The ideal position for the centre would be in the Kušanec-East business zone. The plot of land is owned by the state, and it has been included in the Urban Development Plan. The plot has been defined as part of a commercial production zone and covers the area of 51.62 hectares”, says the Mayor of Velika Gorica Dražen Barišić.
Velika Gorica is the sixth largest city in Croatia, with one of the highest average wages and lowest unemployment rates. According to the latest census, the city has about 65,000 residents.
“In its development goals, Velika Gorica defines the economy as its top priority, because that is what gives impetus to the development of the entire city. We are open to new technologies and we are trying to develop ourselves as a ‘smart city’. We believe that in this regard we could be the perfect location for the implementation of your business plans”, says the letter which was sent to Rimac Automobili by Mayor Barišić.
The city authorities say that all investors get a designated investment associates who help them in all the steps necessary for the project to be implemented. The city has published an investment guide and offers various incentives, including the reduction of municipal contribution fee in the range of between 10 to 92 percent.
