The second largest Croatian telecom operator will change its name to align with the branding of its owner.
Vipnet, a telecom company which has been operating in the Croatian market for 19 years, is changing its name and it will be from now on called A1. The name change has already been implemented in Slovenia, and the intention of the owner, A1 Telekom Austria Group, is for the A1 brand to become recognisable to consumers in the whole of Europe. By the end of this year, the Vip brand will be replaced by the A1 brand, while Vipnet d.o.o. will become A1 Croatia d.o.o., reports Večernji List on June 19, 2018.
The introduction of the A1 brand in all markets of A1 Telekom Austria Group will not only strengthen its position in the European telecommunications industry but will also enable all A1 users in all markets a consistent and unique brand experience, according to a statement issued by Vipnet.
Despite the change of name, all previously acquired rights and obligations of users, business partners, customers and suppliers will remain unchanged and valid, without the need to change any of the contracts signed. Users will not need to replace their SIM cards, numbers, modems or any part of the equipment, and all services and processes will continue as before.
The Tomato brand will not change and will continue to operate in its current form in the market. B.net will be available as part of the A1 product and service offerings, while Vip Metronet Business Solutions will become A1 Business Solutions.
“Nineteen years ago, Vipnet entered the Croatian telecommunications market and launched the market competition. Since then, the company was the first in the Croatian market to introduce innovative products and services, such as first prepaid options, multimedia messaging (MMS), video calling, SMS parking payment service, and 3G and 4G networks. In less than two decades, Vipnet has been transformed from a mobile operator into a fully convergent market player offering mobile, fixed, TV and ICT products and services. Vipnet today can no longer be just a telecommunications company or a network operator. By adapting to the digital evolution which is taking place around us, we are changing ourselves and becoming a digital company. With the A1 brand, we want to continue to be a reliable partner for our users and at the same time improve their digital lives. In cooperation with our customers, we will develop new smart solutions that will enable them to further enjoy the digital age,” said Jiri Dvorjančansky, the CEO of Vipnet.
