Good news for tourists wanting to get euro from the machine in the wall.
Zagrebačka Banka has introduced a new service of cash withdrawals at ATMs with euro banknotes. The first euro ATM has been installed at the Ban Jelačić Square in the very centre of Zagreb. The bank has announced that very soon similar ATMs will be installed at selected locations in other cities, including Rijeka, Sesvete, Split and Nova Gradiška. The service will allow customers to carry out necessary transactions without waiting in branch offices and, perhaps more importantly, during any part of the day, reports Poslovni.hr on January 30, 2016.
Payments of up to a maximum of 500 euros per day can be carried out from all domestic and foreign currency transaction accounts, including Maestro and Visa Electron International cards which are accepted by Zagrebačka Banka. Until the end of March, the service will be free of charge for customers, while after that the fee for cash withdrawals at the ATMs will amount to 5 kuna per transaction.
Zagrebačka Banka points out that the payment of cash in foreign currency is one of the most common transactions requested by customers in its branch offices, with as much as 90 percent of such payments being in euros. “Frequent trips to neighbouring countries and the EU member states are part of life for many, and particularly for our younger customers for whom, due to their lifestyle, it is very important to have the money in their euro accounts available immediately and at any moment, regardless of working hours of bank branches and currency exchange offices”, said Dijana Hrastović, a member of the Board of Directors of Zagrebačka Banka.
