November the 7th, 2025 – There are hopes for stronger cooperation between Croatia and the USA, particularly when it comes to the field of energy.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, this week, Economy Minister Ante Šušnjar received an inaugural visit of the newly appointed United States Ambassador to Croatia, Nicole McGraw, to whom he wished a warm welcome and a successful mandate here in Croatia.

Minister Šušnjar and Ambassador McGraw discussed strengthening strategic cooperation between Croatia and the USA, with a special emphasis placed on energy security, LNG and nuclear cooperation, US investment and trade, as well as innovation and the development of advanced technologies.

The economy minister emphasised that Croatia’s accession to the OECD and the ratification of the Double Taxation Agreement are among the key national priorities for both countries, underlining the importance of strong US support in these processes. As the country currently chairing the Three Seas Initiative, Croatia, in cooperation with the USA, is continuing to strengthen their transatlantic relationship and infrastructure connectivity in the areas of LNG, electricity grids, nuclear and geothermal energy.

Despite an increasingly shaky image on the global stage, the USA remains an important strategic partner for Croatia when it comes to strengthening economic resilience, energy security and innovation development. During the recent meeting, both sides expressed their readiness to continue intensive dialogue and concrete projects that contribute to common goals for closer cooperation between Croatia and the USA.
