March the 7th, 2024 – Croatia Airlines is still attempting to take on its fierce competition in the likes of Ryanair with the introduction of new routes later on this year.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, among the most important markets for Croatia Airlines is certainly Germany, where it realises the most flights. For this year’s summer season from the German market, other markets and new lines, higher flight occupancy and a good tourist year are expected, according to Jasmin Bajić, president of the Croatia Airlines board.
“We have the most flights going to and from Germany throughout the year, and for the summer schedule that starts at the end of March, we’re introducing lines from Zagreb to Berlin, as well as from other airports in Croatia to various German cities. We believe that traffic will be stronger than last year, we’re being competitive with our prices, and we’re already seeing good demand for Croatia Airlines flights from and to Germany,” said Bajić.
The Croatia Airlines representative for Germany, Mato Radić, confirmed that sales on the German market are currently performing even better than they did last year. In addition to the company’s already agreed cooperation with Turkish Airlines and the announced Split-Istanbul flights, Bajić revealed that three new flights from Zagreb to Berlin, Tirana and Stockholm will be available from May for the summer flight schedule of 2024.
They also explained from Croatia Airlines that this is part of their company-wide strategy of expanding their international flight network. It’s worth noting that Croatia Airlines last had direct flights to Berlin from Zagreb way back in the late 1990s.
Now it is introducing them again due to increasing demand, as well as owing to good cooperation with their German and Croatian partners. Croatia Airlines will fly to Tirana in nearby Albania twice a week, and to Berlin three times per week, just as it will to Stockholm.
