November the 15th, 2025 – Croatia is set to get another new football stadium before the Dinamo stadium is completed, and it will be located far from the capital.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, work is currently firmly underway in Zagreb on the site of the former Kranjčevićeva Stadium, where a modern stadium is now being built, the second such structure in Croatia after the on in Osijek. The football fever (or at least football stadium fever, that is) in Croatia isn’t going to stop there. What has been quietly talked about for the last two years will soon become a reality. NK Slaven Belupo and Koprivnica is also set to get a brand new, ultra-modern stadium.

An architectural and urban planning tender is currently planned to be announced by the end of this year, which will give the final look of the stadium and the final project will be presented to local people, according to sportsport.ba.

Croatia getting yet another new football stadium is a theme worthy of excitement for all fans of the sport, with the one in Koprivnica showing that the attention isn’t being hogged solely by Zagreb or Split. The new stadium will be built on the site of the existing one, it will have four connected stands, and the initial capacity should be around 5,000 seats.

The new football stadium in Koprivnica will therefore fall into the category of small stadiums with the UEFA categorisation system, which is the same status the stadium in Bačka Topola in Serbia, where TSC plays its games, currently holds.

The project about the new football stadium in Koprivnica was initially presented last year, and according to the first estimates, the construction costs would total around 15 million euros. The fact that the area around the stadium itself would also be done up is also implied. The first plans were for the stadium to have a capacity of around 8,000 seats, similar to the new stadiums in Serbia in Loznica, Zaječar, Leskovac, however, it was decided that a smaller capacity is a more realistic option for Koprivnica.

If everything goes as is currently planned, Koprivnica and NK Slaven Belupo could get their brand new stadium by the end of 2028.
