June the 3rd, 2026 – Croatia has opened a brand new tourism office in Berlin to continue strengthening its German market push, which is already solid.

Croatia has officially opened a new representative tourism office in Berlin, further strengthening its presence in Germany, the country’s most important source market for visitors.

The new office will operate alongside the existing Munich office, allowing the Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ) to cover the entire German market more effectively, with a particular focus on northern regions of the country.

Germany has long been Croatia’s strongest tourism partner, accounting for more than one-fifth of all overnight stays in the country. German visitors remain a key driver of the Croatian tourism sector, with millions of arrivals each year, particularly during the summer season along the Adriatic coast.

Speaking at the opening, HTZ officials highlighted Berlin’s strategic importance not only as a political centre, but also as a key hub for travel industry partnerships, airlines, and media.

The move is part of a wider effort to extend Croatia’s tourism season and improve year-round connectivity with major European markets. Officials say the Berlin office will work closely with travel agencies, tour operators, airlines, and digital media platforms to further promote Croatia as a destination.

Germany continues to be one of the most important markets for Croatian tourism, with strong demand across camping holidays, family travel, and private accommodation. In recent years, there has also been growing interest in active tourism, cultural experiences, and off-season travel.

The opening also reflects Croatia’s broader strategy of maintaining and expanding its position in a highly competitive Mediterranean tourism market, where countries such as Spain, Greece, and Italy continue to compete for the same key source markets.

According to tourism officials, German travellers consistently rank Croatia highly for safety, value for money, and accessibility, with strong air connections between the two countries supporting continued growth.

While Croatia remains heavily dependent on seasonal tourism, the new Berlin office is expected to play a role in promoting more balanced, year-round travel flows in the future.

The office is now fully operational and will form part of Croatia’s long-term promotional network across Germany, alongside existing offices and diplomatic channels.
