December the 29th, 2024 – Famous Croatian chef Deni Srdoč, who is the only Croatian chef to have been awarded two Michelin stars for two different restaurants, is moving to Frankfurt.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, the only Croatian chef to have received a Michelin star in two different restaurants, first in Lovran’s Draga di Lovrani and then in the Nebo restaurant at the Rijeka Hilton, is leaving Croatia.
Young Croatian chef Deni Srdoč is moving to Frankfurt where, as he announced on Facebook on Christmas, he is opening a new restaurant.
“Great news! After many months without a kitchen (or restaurant), I can finally say that a new home has been found – we’re opening in a few months! Unfortunately, I’m leaving Croatia but I’m happy to be able to call Frankfurt my new home. As a co-founder, I’m truly excited to have this opportunity to follow my dreams, and to continue creating and cooking incredible dishes with the incredible team I’ve surrounded myself with.
The vision is to create several concepts that will work together harmoniously, striving to be the best in their fields, and Nova as our flagship – my new home. We’ll reveal the details about Nova and its concept soon, but for now, I’ll leave you with only the name, and the excitement of knowing that something new is on its way. This will probably be the most important project of my life,” said one of the more famous Croatian chefs on social media.
He ended his post with an invitation to those interested in the job: “If you’re interested in joining our team, send us your CV. We’re looking for passionate people – chefs, waiters, sommeliers – everyone who wants to help us create something extraordinary together.”
Croatian chef Deni Srdoč spoke about his new business venture on Instagram some time ago, where he also posted one of the menus of the new Frankfurt restaurant. It isn’t yet known whether any changes have occurred in the meantime, but what was posted was mouthwatering. The four-course tasting menu will be priced at 82 euros.
Croatian chef Deni Srdoč left Rijeka where he first ran the aforementioned Nebo restaurant within the Hilton Rijeka Costabella Beach Resort&Spa. Less than a year ago, he was succeeded in that position by young chef Gabriela Filca, and then he was put in charge of creating new menus and dealing with staff development. In the meantime, the talented Croatian chef opened the Hidden Wine Bistro in Rijeka, but, apparently, his Frankfurt plans succeeded.
