June the 2nd, 2024 – 32 brand new Croatian police cameras have been placed along Croatian roads to catch drivers breaking the law. The most “dangerous areas” for reckless driving is in Split-Dalmatia County.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, through a detailed analysis of several sources, including data from the Ministry of the Interior, the Autonet portal has created a list of as many as 468 positions across Croatia, where there is a possibility that speeding drivers may be recorded by radars or cameras.
For easier viewing, these Croatian police cameras and their positions are divided by police department. The biggest “danger” for hapless driving lurks in the area of the Split-Dalmatia County, where there are as many as 64 places where there is a possibility of being caught by a speeding camera.
This is followed by Zagreb. Until recently, there were only 21 locations, which has been drastically increased in the last few weeks, by as many as 18 locations. Now, there are 39 positions in that area that have speed cameras installed, Autonet writes.
With only three locations boasting Croatian police cameras across Istria and Vukovar-Srijem County, both lag behind, with 39 locations each. The Varaždin Police Department has 34 locations, and the Zadar Police Department has 28 of them, largely referring to the City of Zadar itself.
There is only one police department that has a single-digit number of fixed camera locations. That is Požega-Slavonia, where there are only 7 locations. That eastern Croatian county is followed by Karlovac and Sisak-Moslavina with 11 locations each, with the fact that this year, the Karlovac area got two new locations, and Sisak got three. This year, the area covered by the Bjelovar-Bilogora police got four new locations, with as many as five in Krapina-Zagorje.
This year, new Croatian police cameras can be found in 32 new locations. See the entire list on the Autonet portal.
