July the 10th, 2023 – Croatian property prices have been sky high for some time now, with inflation forcing them further and further up as time goes on. When might they fall to being back within normal range?

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, Martina Mataić Škugor, a real estate agent, was recently a guest of N1’s Novi dan/New day. During her appearance she discussed the trends with Croatian property prices and when we might be able to expect them to fall again.

Expectations between buyers and sellers differ…

“I would personally say that the prices are the same, but there’s been a decrease in transactions. The expectations of sellers and buyers have become different. Buyers expect Croatian property prices to drop, and sellers hold their prices or go higher than these prices,” she explained.

Apartments that require adaptation are also currently being sold at prices above 3,000 euros, she says.

“People could expect a drop in Croatian property prices maybe at the end of this year, and it might occur even earlier, let’s say in September, when the sellers see that there are no buyers at the prices they are asking for,”

When asked how much exactly Croatian property prices could fall, Mataić Škugor noted that last year’s data shows that that fall stood at 23 percent. According to the data agencies currently have, the difference between the requested and realised prices typically stands at about five percent.
