March the 31st, 2025 – Yesterday marked the beginning of the Croatian summer flight schedule, but is the country’s most famous tourist haven prepared for the approaching season?
As Dubrovacki vjesnik/Maja Rilovic Koprivec writes, the Croatian summer flight schedule that started this weekend marked the official start of the tourist pre-season. 23 aircraft landed at Dubrovnik’s Ruđer Bošković Airport on Sunday, March the 30th.
Although the Pearl of the Adriatic already has tourists, the Croatian summer flight schedule for Dubrovnik will obviously result in an increase in the number of flights and the arrival of a larger number of tourists. According to available information, more than 30 hotels opened their doors across Dubrovnik during the month of March and will continue to do so into early April 2025. Additional accommodation capacities are also expected to open in mid-April, according to the Dubrovnik Tourist Board.
plenty of air traffic for Ruđer Bošković Airport

“During the summer season, more than 40 airlines will operate at Ruđer Bošković Airport, linking Dubrovnik to more than 65 international destinations. We’d like to emphasise that this year, the daily United Airlines flight to Newark – New York will begin operations from May the 2nd, as will Swiss Air to Zurich five times a week. Ryanair will also link Dubrovnik to new destinations: Gothenburg, Katowice and Marseille. In addition to the above, we will have an increase in the number of weekly operations during the peak summer season by Air France, KLM, Turkish Airlines, Austrian Airlines, easyJet and more.
On the first day of 2025’s summer season in Dubrovnik, there will be around 40 aircraft operations from 11 airlines. In the first week of the summer season, there will be more than 370 aircraft operations to more than 40 destinations.
Most airlines operating as part of Dubrovnik Airport’s regular traffic are also expected to begin increased operations. In April, over 950 flights from 30 airlines have been announced, connecting Dubrovnik with more than 55 destinations. During the Croatian summer flight schedule, more than 40 airlines will connect Dubrovnik with over 65 international destinations.
the port of dubrovnik

According to data from the Dubrovnik Port Authority, as many as twenty-seven cruise ship arrivals have been announced during April for the Port of Dubrovnik.
From the beginning of April onwards, two massive ships will dock in Gruž daily. These ships are from companies that we’re used to and that are slowly returning to cruises in the Mediterranean after the winter, MSC Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Linea ships, and Costa Crociere ships will also arrive in April.
The Dubrovnik Tourist Board expects a very successful tourist season, after a series of promotional campaigns that were carried out during the winter.
“Dubrovnik has been included in the prestigious Wanderlust “Good To Go” list for 2025, which further promotes the city as a desirable destination. The Dubrovnik Tourist Board is continuously carrying out promotional activities across key source markets, including digital campaigns and participation in international fairs, with the aim of attracting a larger number of visitors throughout the year.
Among the most significant marketing campaigns, we’d like to highlight advertising in Times Square in NYC, digital campaigns at various sporting events, promotion in the digital edition of The New York Times, as well as a campaign that will be shown on Sports24, a global platform for sports content within the in-flight entertainment system, from March the 16th to April the 16th, 2025,” the Dubrovnik Tourist Board stated.
They also highlighted the promotional campaign in the London Underground, which took place from February the 10th to the 23rd, 2025. The move saw Dubrovnik made visible at some of the most frequented stations of the British capital, ensuring a strong presence in one of the most important and strongest European markets.
“This type of advertising targets millions of passengers daily, further strengthening Dubrovnik’s position as an attractive destination for British visitors. Dubrovnik was also successfully promoted during the Oscars through a geo-targeted campaign, all with the aim of affirming the city as a top film destination that attracts international productions. It was also shown during America’s Super Bowl,” they added.
In addition to all of the above, Dubrovnik has further strengthened its status by presenting at leading international fairs in Berlin, Munich, Madrid, Chicago and Bari, as well as presentations in Asia and the Netherlands for agents and media, thereby significantly increasing its visibility on key broadcasting markets.
