July the 17th, 2025 – There have been 5% more cruise ships registered in Croatian waters this year than in 2024, pointing to what will likely be an excellent summer season.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, the tourist season in Croatia this year has started off very well, as evidenced by the latest statistical data on cruise ships present in Croatian waters published this week. There were 151 cruises registered by foreign ships in the Croatian part of the Adriatic in the first five months of this year, representing a 5% increase compared to 2024.

The number of passengers aboard these vessels however was 0.2 percent less, reaching 207.5,000, according to the latest data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS).
A total of 45 foreign cruise ships entered Croatian seaports in the first five months of this year, which is 12.5% more than in the same period last year. The number of days they stayed in Croatia increased by about 20 days, or 7.6%, to 356 days.
The foreign cruise ships which sailed through Croatian waters in the first five months of 2025 did so under the flags of a total of 11 countries. The most voyages, or 42 of them in total, were realised by ships sailing under the Maltese flag.

Malta is followed by the flags of Panama, the Bahamas and Norway, Italy and Bermuda. During the month of May alone, the number of cruise ships (foreign ships) in Croatian waters was 6.4% higher than in the same month last year. 132,000 passengers arrived aboard these giant vessels in Croatia, equal to 6% more. Typically, the most foreign cruise trips were registered in the area of Dubrovnik-Neretva County, followed by Split-Dalmatia County a little further north.
