November the 14th, 2024 – The City of Dubrovnik has launched a podcast in order to better facilitate communication with its residents.
As Morski writes, the City of Dubrovnik has presented its new podcast -DUcast. The new Dubrovnik podcast is otherwise the very first podcast launched by any administration in Croatia. It has been designed to provide the city’s citizens with a unique opportunity to learn direct information and get involved in key city projects.
Over the last few years, podcasts have started a revolution in the way we consume information and shape the culture of living. The popularity of podcasts has skyrocketed worldwide, attracting millions. Through diverse shows that cover a wide range of interests – from education and entertainment to business and health – podcasts have become a key tool for personal and professional development, providing listeners with authentic content, inspiration and understanding of various aspects of life.
The Dubrovnik podcast makes perfect sense, and the Pearl of the Adriatic is undoubtedly proud to present DUcast. By introducing this innovative communication channel, the city administration decided to respond to the needs of its fellow citizens for flexible information formats. The Dubrovnik podcast was realised in cooperation with UNIDU radio, the student radio of the University of Dubrovnik.
The new Dubrovnik podcast will be broadcast once per month, and each episode will be dedicated to topics of key importance to Dubrovnik. In the first episode, Deputy Mayor Jelka Tepšić talks about numerous initiatives and projects the city is involved in, including the internationally recognised “Respect the City” programme. This initiative, aimed at sustainable development through responsible management of tourism and preserving the quality of life of residents, stands out as an example of how Dubrovnik tries to take care of its community and environment.
With DUcast, residents of Dubrovnik will gain access to interviews with city leaders, officials and key stakeholders, enabling an open and transparent dialogue.
