December the 11th, 2024 – Dubrovnik has turned white! Not with snow just yet, however, but with a huge coating of hail dragged in by poor weather conditions.
As Morski writes, strong winds and very unfavourable weather conditions have seen Dubrovnik turns white. That white coating is the result of very heavy hail, of which several centimetres fell!
People currently in Dubrovnik are issuing warnings that it is currently dangerous to walk along the already very smooth stones of Stradun and the surrounding streets because everything has become slippery. There’s also plenty of rain, but that isn’t all when it comes to the poor weather the Pearl of the Adriatic is set to be battered with.
There’s a strong thunderstorm system gaining traction out in the sea between Trogir and Rogoznica that is bringing precipitation and hail down south, but thankfully, most of the precipitation in that part of Dalmatia has remained at sea.
