Fire Breaks Out in Šestanovac

Exactly a month after the catastrophic fire that ravaged almost a quarter of Šestanovac municipality, a new wildfire broke out east of Vukušići village earlier today, reports Slobodna Dalmacija on August 16, 2017.

According to the first information the reporters received from the commander of Fire Department Omiš Višeslav Pešić, around a hundred firemen are currently on the site battling the blaze, helped by one Airtractor and two helicopters.

Morbidly enough, this latest fire broke out at the exact same spot where the horrible blaze was stopped in July. It’s spreading fast due to strong wind towards Žeževica, and it’s not yet certain how big of an area is affected at the moment.
