Fire in Konavle: 40 Hectares of Forest Burned, Firefighters Monitored Blaze All Night

A potentially damaging blaze in Konavle is tackled.

As Dubrovački Dnevnik writes on the 22nd of October, 2017, yesterday at about 11:00 a fire began in open space in Konavle close to Uskoplje.

Mario Magud from Konavle’s fire department told Dubrovački Dnevnik that 90 firefighters from the whole county, as well as 21 fire engines were involved in fighting the wildfire.

The fire was tackled by two canaders from 15:00 to 17:00 and 112 reports that the fire was safely put under control by 18:00, and that a surface of about 40 hectares of pine forest and low vegetation had been burned.

Seven firefighters with four JVP Konavle vehicles monitored the blaze all night last night.

No injury or material damage has been reported.
