A chance to see selected art from the Dagmar Meneghello Collection without taking a boat to Palmižana – although that is in itself a great trip. Visit Hvar before September 7th, 2018 and enjoy this free exhibition of contemporary Croatian art.
Hvar, 4 July 2018; Dagmar Meneghello needs no introduction for any Croatian art buff. The Meneghello family has lived on the island of Palmižana, one of the Pakleni Islands just off Hvar. Dagmar has from her youth been interested in art and their home has hosed many a young artist and she has mentored many. Quite a few of the artists have now become famous in their own right. Dagmar has accumulated a remarkable collection of Croatian contemporary art in this way.
Just last December, as reported in Total Croatia News she was honoured for her outstanding contribution to Croatian Art Culture.
Usually the only way to see any of the art collection was to take a small boat to the island of Palmižana, and hope something interesting will be on display. But now you can see a selection of the works in the Arsenal Gallery on the upper floor of Hvar Town’s Arsenal building.
