August 25, 2023 – During the closed part of the session, the Croatian Government adopted the 8th decision on Croatian military aid to Ukraine on Thursday.

As Poslovni writes, this act brings the total financial support of Croatia to Ukraine in this war to 256 million euros. As reported by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Croatia (MORH), the total value of the material resources that will be donated to Ukraine based on the 8th decision of the Croatian Government amounts to about 30 million euros.

Namely, the Government of the Republic of Croatia has so far adopted seven Decisions on the donation of material resources to Ukraine, i.e., Croatian military aid to Ukraine. So far, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of the Interior, and the Ministry of Defense have been responsible for implementing these measures. The first Decision of the Croatian Government thus referred to humanitarian funds, while all other Government Decisions had to do with the donation of material resources.

Breakdown of What Croatian Military Aid to Ukraine Shall Support

After the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Croatia broke down what the aid has supported so far, the same was done for the 8th decision. The Government points out that the decision mainly refers to material resources and military equipment that will further strengthen and improve the capabilities of the Ukrainian army, especially the land and air forces. Also, donations will further improve the equipment and weapons of Ukrainian soldiers.

The Croatian Defense Minister Mario Banožić pointed out that this is a comprehensive bilateral aid to Ukraine, of which the largest amount, about 180 million euros, refers to military aid. Assistance is also provided through the initiatives of the European Union, i.e., a three-part approach focused on the donation of equipment to Ukraine, procurement, and strengthening Ukrainian industrial production.
