July the 25th, 2026 – Hvar has once again been ranked among the most desirable European islands, with voting now open for the Wanderlust Travel Awards.
After the readers of the prestigious American magazine Travel + Leisure included Hvar among the fifteen best European islands, a new major international recognition has arrived. Hvar has been nominated for the title of “Most Desirable Island in Europe” in the Wanderlust Reader Travel Awards 2026, one of the most prestigious awards in the world of travel.
Wanderlust is the longest-running and most widely read British travel magazine, which has inspired millions of travellers to discover the world for more than 30 years. Its annual awards are based exclusively on readers’ votes, which is why they represent one of the most relevant awards for tourist destinations. Last year, more than 200,000 travellers participated in the voting, who cast almost five million votes, and this year an even greater turnout is expected.
