December the 8th, 2025 – It’s been a year of smashing records for Croatia’s southernmost air hub, with investments in Dubrovnik Airport recently announced.

As Poslovni Dnevnik/Sinisa Malus writes, the year that is now rapidly coming to an end will remain a milestone in the history of Dubrovnik Airport. For the very first time, the number of passengers exceeded three million.

With a total of 3,058,306 passengers served during the first eleven months of 2025, growth of 4.46 percent was achieved compared to the same period of the previous year, which was also a record. In addition to the 3.1 million passengers estimated for this year in total, Dubrovnik Airport has achieved successes in many other areas as well.

When it comes to the facility’s financial results, the preliminary operating profit for the year 2025 is estimated to stand at around 6.3 million euros.

a year of records for dubrovnik airport

“We can be extremely satisfied with the year in which we achieved three million passengers served, as well as numerous other achievements, among which are the daily flights to New York, the return of certain carriers and the increase in the number of passengers and operations in ten months of this year. This record result is a confirmation of the dedicated and hard work of all our employees, the trust placed in us by our passengers and the continuous investment in cooperation with the community and improving the quality of service. We’d like to sincerely thank all of our partners, users and the community that has tirelessly supported us on this journey. A special thanks also goes out to all our employees – because each individual is responsible for a significant part of this success,” said Viktor Šober, Dubrovnik Airport’s director.

This year, Dubrovnik Airport was the only airport in all of Croatia that directly connected Croatia with the United States of America, daily from May to the end of September and four times a week during the month of October. Another significant moment was the return of the Swiss carrier, which connected Dubrovnik and Zurich with five weekly flights throughout the summer schedule. Throughout 2025, there have been a total of five new routes, three of which are operated by Ryanair.

continuous growth

From May to September, Dubrovnik Airport enjoyed record months, both in terms of the number of passengers and the number of operations. Moreover, the first ten months of the year recorded continuous growth.

In addition to positive indicators in terms of overall passenger traffic, significant growth was also achieved across other business segments, among which cargo, goods and mail traffic stand out. The latter has grown by more than 1000 percent since the beginning of the year alone.

In 2025, investments were also given the green light for Dubrovnik Airport. The facility launched procurement processes that will significantly impact its business and user experience going forward. These include the project to procure state-of-the-art equipment for the security screening of passengers and hand luggage, and the implementation of the CUPPS, DCS and AMS systems, which will bring passengers a faster and simpler check-in and baggage drop-off experience.

By introducing these systems, Dubrovnik Airport will formally join the circle of airports that use the most modern systems for handling and processing passengers and baggage, and managing all internal processes.

this season’s winter flight schedule

The most notable news in the winter flight schedule from Croatia’s southernmost airport is the new winter route to Rome introduced by Croatia Airlines. Croatia’s flights from Dubrovnik across the Adriatic to Rome will now operate twice a week all year round, increasing the number of CA’s international routes this winter to 27. Among the year-round routes in the winter flight schedule are Croatia Airlines’ routes to Frankfurt, Ryanair’s to Vienna, Brussels and London, and LOT Polish Airlines’ to Warsaw, confirming the stable presence of key European markets during the winter months.

Austrian Airlines will also continue to fly during the festive period, while Discover Airlines will connect Dubrovnik with Frankfurt until January the 5th, 2026. There are also as many as six weekly flights directly to the German city of Frankfurt until the end of the calendar year.

Dubrovnik is also expecting a busy pre-season next year, in which it will be connected to Madrid, Dublin, London and Manchester as of the end of February. In addition to new carriers and destinations being introduced in 2026, which are continuously being worked on, the focus remains on traffic during the pre-season, post-season and on the winter flight schedule.
