American Jacob Lingo: Threatening Message But Safe: FBI Involved

The Croatian National registry of missing persons has a young American national, 18-year-old Jacob Andrew Lingo listed as a person who went missing in late July, and the Croatian media is writing about his disappearance, asking anyone for help in finding him.

Jacob Andrew Lingo just graduated from high-school and came to Europe from his home in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in late June. His first stop was Vienna, Austria, and then he spent the next few weeks travelling through Switzerland, France and Italy.

On July the 19th, he left Italy to come to Zagreb by bus, explaining to his family that Italy was too expensive and that people have told him that Croatia is more affordable. All this time he has been in contact with his family. On July the 22nd he sent his family members a photo, showing that he was in Baška Voda, near Makarska.

On July the 25th, he complained that he had spent almost all of his money, and that he would spend the night on the beach to save money. His family put some more money in his bank account, but then it turned out that that was not the account he was using at all.

Nobody has seen or heard from him since July the 25th. In the entry in the registry, it says that he went missing on the 28th, but his family claims that the last known contact was on the 25th. Neither his credit card nor his phone have been used after that date.

Jacob planned to visit Split and Dubrovnik, and he was supposed to fly back home, again from Vienna, on August the 15th. Jacob is 182cm tall, medium built, has green eyes and light brown hair. His family has started a Facebook page where you can find more info on Jacob.

If you know anything about Jacob Andrew Lingo’s whereabouts, please contact the local police or police through the National registry of missing persons, or the American Embassy.
