July the 30th, 2025 – Jazz u Vinogradu (Jazz in the vineyard) 2025 welcomes one and all to its international edition this August!
This, now internationally recognised and positioned festival, is a unique experience that represents Međimurje as a top destination During the first 4 years of Jazz u Vinogradu, the festival events were visited by more than 3,000 guests and the idea is to keep it within these limits in order to maintain the status of a “boutique” event, as well as to preserve this unique natural environment.
The story is told by a music festival led by the artistic director and our celebrated guitarist and Lifetime Achievement Award winner, Mr. Ratko Zjača.
His professionalism, creativity and global recognition allow us to be guided by high artistic standards and to select and present creative groups and musicians from all over the world, whether they are respected, recognised jazz greats or talents that only the jazz world will likely have heard about.

In addition to concerts, the Jazz u Vinogradu 2025 festival also nurtures networking, organising several Masterclasses where world-famous jazz musicians will come together to share their knowledge and experiences with young musicians. On top of all that, in cooperation with the Slovenian “Jazz Ravne” festival, exhibitions and performances of the youngest musicians are organised.
Although music is always in the foreground of the Jazz u Vinogradu 2025 festival, it also has many other attributes that distinguish it from similar events. First and foremost, it spotlights the truly unique location of the Mađerka hill, a natural phenomenon of cascading vineyards where most of the programmes take place at the very top of the hill (340 metres above sea level). The view from the top is of four countries in the immediate vicinity (Slovenia, Hungary, Austria and of course Croatia) and it’s simply breathtaking.
The area of the Štrigova municipality (where the central part of the Jazz u Vinogradu 2025 festival is held) is located in the north of Croatia in a beautiful wine-growing region that has managed to survive mass tourist invasions, despite its stunning beauty and its wide range of possibilities. This is a beautiful region that produces some of the best wines in the entire European Union.
The hosts themselves, the Štampar family – on whose estate the festival is held, are the proud winners of the biggest wine awards (Golden Decanter for the best sparkling wine “Urban white” and Sauvignon in 2023!). In addition to the wine offer at Jazz u Vinogradu 2025 itself, your palate will also be satisfied by the culinary inspiration of the Međimurje chef Marko Palfi, who will bring some amazing culinary surprises to guests.

The festival programme this year also includes several other attractive locations and programmes such as the Cultural Centre (Dom Pušipel) in Štrigova, where Masterclasses and an exhibition are held, and there’s always the very tempting offer from festival partner Terme Sv. Martin.
The uniqueness of this gorgeous hilly location, the international Jazz Festival, the local eno-gastro offer, expert lectures and lots of good music give this event a special status and a unique experience. Over time, the Jazz u Vinogradu festival has become a celebration of togetherness, nature and culture that has been visited by guests from more than 30 countries around the world so far. Why not come and join us, too?
