Kids to build James Bond’s boat on Lokrum

Another shipbuilding school on the island of Lokrum as kids are set to build 007’s vessel!

As Dubrovacki Dnevnik reported on the 3rd of July, 2017, versatile Dubrovnik local Igor Hajdarhodžić, who has turned his hand to many fields and is a jack of all trades if there ever was one, has invited all interested Dubrovnik children to spend their long summer holiday to join his team on the island of Lokrum as a new shipbuilding school begins!

Hajdarhodzic is otherwise deeply in love with the sea and all things related to it, so this is certainly the best education local children can get when it comes to this subject.

Spending a summer building a boat that was used by the famous British agent James Bond back in 1967 is sure to win over the hearts of many locals, particularly given the history of Duško Popov, also known as ”Tricycle” who lived in Dubrovnik and was the original inspiration for the James Bond character. School is set to begin on July the 10th, the same day as the opening of the 68th Dubrovnik Summer Festival, and will be free of charge.

Otherwise, Hajdarhodžić is an actor, a musician and a highly creative individual. He has even hosted two foreign television productions which recorded documentaries about the City of Dubrovnik and about Croatia as a whole which has been viewed one million times to date.
