October the 20th, 2024 – The Croatian app 360 PROMO helps people nationwide save money as price hikes continue to cause tremendous issues for household budgets and bank accounts.
As Poslovni Dnevnik/Mladen Miletic writes, prices keep on rising and the impact on people’s household budgets has increased. This has forced consumers to begin switching to shopping applications, looking for all possible ways to save a few euros.
The Croatian app 360 PROMO, the most popular in 2024, has already attracted more than 170,000 people from Croatia, and research has also shown what they’re most interested in. While the cumulative official inflation rate in the last four years was slightly less than 30%, we’ve witnessed most food products – such as bread, milk, oil, eggs, chocolates, biscuits and numerous other consumer goods – more than double in price in that same period.
Although the official rate of inflation this year (3-4%) has been significantly reduced compared to the record year of 2022 (more than 10%), fruit lovers could, for example, see an over 50% increase in the prices of several types of fruit in the last two months alone. That’s been the case at the markets as well as in shopping centres.
Considering the fact that the typical Croatian household allocates about 30% of their household budget on food and other consumer goods on average, it’s no wonder that an increasing number of people are actively looking for ways to save on regular grocery purchases that they absolutely need.
This probably explains why applications for smart and thrifty shopping are becoming more and more popular. Those behind the Croatian app 360 PROMO have since discovered what its users are looking for when it comes to promotional discounts and how much can be saved by shopping using those promotions.
Beer was extremely popular during the hot summer months, when the search for ice cream on special discounts was also in the top few places of the search. After the aforementioned searches, the users of the Croatian app 360 PROMO also often sought out basic food items on sale, such as eggs, sugar, oil and cheese.
The search for meat, mostly chicken, is also popular. Toilet paper is also in great demand at a special price, which is logical because there can be discounts of up to 50%. Many well-known brands from the categories of food and cleaning products are also often searched for, and there are also many searches for alcoholic beverages – both wine and certain well-known brands of spirits.
It’s worth noting that the top 5 categories that users search during these promotions are: meat and seafood, alcoholic beverages, dairy products, eggs and cheese, fruits and vegetables, and cleaning products.
The Croatian app 360 PROMO also offers users the possibility to sort the promotional offers of nine leading consumer goods retailers according to the size of the promotional discount. That makes it much easier to check which products can be “grabbed” at the time with the greatest savings potential.
As an example of this, back at the the beginning of October, promotional discounts between 50 and 54% could be found on yogurts, toilet paper, paper towels, potatoes, sausages, ice creams, apples, tuna salads, chocolates and biscuits, wines, spaghetti, pans, various products from category of cleaning agents – detergents, dishwasher tablets and the like.
At discounts of 40-50%, users can find shower gels and creams made by well-known brands, vacuum cleaners, oil, vinegar, bread, butter, cheese, prosciutto, winter salami, walnuts, fresh chicken fillet, toothpaste and much more. Eggs, turkey and chicken breast, carrots and various cosmetic products are on sale with 30-39% discounts.
“If you live in a larger urban area, then it’s worth visiting 2-3 stores (which you can probably find at a reasonable distance) – in order to take advantage of the most attractive promotions at the given moment. In this way, it’s possible to save about 30% by shopping on promotions, which is approximately the amount of the average promotional discount. By doing this, the average Croatian family can save around 200 euros per month by purchasing the necessary consumer goods when they’re on sale,” stated Josip Muller, the man behind the Croatian app 360 PROMO.
It’s also interesting to note that in more than 90% of cases, this app’s users search for the Sunday working hours of consumer goods stores, which shows that 360 PROMO serves them as the fastest and easiest way to check what is open nearby and where they can shop for what they need..
