After INA, Aircash has signed contracts with Croatian Lottery and Croatian Telecom.
In less than a year since it became available, the Aircash app for payments and withdrawal of funds now has 15,000 active users. The services are accessed from smartphones by downloading the Aircash app, and the precondition for a transaction is that both the sender and the recipient of funds have the app installed, reports Novac.hr on June 26, 2018.
“The weekly volume of transactions through our app is about 300,000 kuna on average,” said one of the company founders and director Hrvoje Ćosić.
The market launch of the app began with a business deal signed with INA, which made its petrol stations the first outlets where Aircash users could withdraw funds paid to their accounts. Later, credit card payment services were also introduced. “Interestingly, INA, as a conservative energy company, has demonstrated the readiness to introduce new services, and its retail department is working intensively on this project. They attract a new generation of customers to their outlets, as well as others who visit INA petrol stations precisely to withdraw funds and then buy their other products there, like fuel,” explained Ćosić.
Following the agreement with INA, Aircash has established cooperation with Croatian Lottery and the Super Sport betting company signed a contract with Croatian Telecom (HT) and is expanding to the neighbouring Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“The cooperation with the Croatian Lottery and Super Sport enables Aircash payments to their customers’ online accounts. In a few days, we will enable the purchase of HT prepaid services through our app. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, Aircash has started with basic services and is already connected with leading chains of Ina/Energopetrol petrol stations and iNovine kiosks, with more than 700 locations. We plan to cooperate with Bosnian lottery according to the same model as well,” said the co-founder of Aircash.
Speaking about the company’s future moves, Ćorić mentions the fact that a large number of Croats currently live abroad and want to send money to their families. Therefore, Aircash will endeavour to develop its services across Europe. “We are getting aligned with major EU-level regulation changes, which will liberalize the market and enable service providers like Aircash to simply merge with banking sites and initiate transactions for their customers in order to make the payment process simpler and more favourable for all market participants,” said Ćosić.
As the only company from this part of Europe, Aircash has been included in the largest “fintech” conference in the world “Money 20/20”, which was held in Amsterdam earlier this month. “The leading technology, finance, and fintech companies were there, including Apple’s co-founder Steve Wozniak, as well as heads of the largest European banks. Aircash applied to the Academy programme, which brought together innovative companies from the EU’s fintech sector. We have good contacts with partners from Germany, Austria, and other countries, with a view to spreading our platform to other European markets,” concluded Ćosić.
