Surf’n’Fries makes tasty fries, easy to dip into their delicious sauces.
The most successful Croatian franchise Surf’n’Fries, which was initiated seven years ago by two young guys from Rijeka, Andrija Čolak and Denis Polić, is expanding its business to Russia. Together with the Moldovan Tucano Coffee, they will open their first facility at the end of the summer in the Moscow area, and they are, of course, aiming for more than one location, reports Poslovni.hr on July 22, 2016.
The franchise owner has high hopes and expects to open at least 100 shops. The director of the Russian Franchising Association Jekaterina Sojak said that the fast food market was one of the few sectors of Russian business which is growing despite the crisis. In the first quarter, the turnover in the fast food restaurant sector in Russia grew by 3 percent compared to the previous year. The number of visitors in classic restaurants during the same period fell 14 percent.
In 2016, Surf’n’Fries also opened markets in Ireland, Germany and Iran, and signed a master franchise for the United Arab Emirates. The first Surf’N’Fries place there will be opened in September at the famous Kite Beach in Dubai. In Ireland, they are currently represented with their Surf’n’Fries-Trailer format. But their master franchisee in the country Dražen Tolić says there are much bigger plans for expansion. He is working on finding locations for opening a Surf’n’Fries-Store, Polić explains. In Germany, they have started with a master franchise and smaller shops.
Next month two new Surf’n’Fries places will be opened in Vienna, which is the result of the five-year efforts of the Austrian franchisees who have started with just one Surf’n’Fries mobile location and now have five different shops. In the meantime, after Iran left the international isolation, the local market of 80 million people showed a great potential. But that is not all – the negotiations are also under way to enter the markets of the United States and China.
