EU-Startups website published a list of 10 Croatian startups you should pay attention to in the year 2019. Out of the ten they seem to believe are going to be the most successful, 2 are working in the tourist sector and one is in the gastronomy, which shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone, since tourism and hospitality are still the major Croatian creators of growth, so it’s no wonder that there are innovative companies working in that field.
The ten Croatian startups you should pay attention to are: Rentlio, Pointers Travel, TalentLyft (HR tool for companies), Mediatoolkit (media monitoring tool), Gideon Brothers (AI-powered robot for various industrial applications), GammaChef (robotic chef capable of preparing any one pot meal), HUBBIG (logistics platform for cargo transport), ExRey (“Shazam for video”), Agrivi (tools for farming) and Amodo (IoT platform for cars).
Two of the tourism-related startups are Rentlio and Pointers Travel. Rentlio is an application made to simplify the lives of people renting appartments of managing rentals for hostels or small hotels. Through the app they can manage numerous administrative tasks, including sync bookings made through multiple channels (such as booking.com, AirBnB or Expedia, as well as others), invoicing, help with checking guests in etc. Rentlio has been around for 5 years, and has been founded and still operates out of Zadar.
Pointer Travel is an application which is an online travel guide for destinations in Croatia and Germany in Europe and South Africa and the USA overseas. It has detailed local information about most attractions in Croatia, including beaches, castles, caves, nightlife, restaurants, shopping and accommodation. It has been around since 2015 and is based in Osijek. Recently it spread to New York City, Florida, towns in Germany and South Africa and is still growing their markets.
While there are certainly other startups in Croatia worth looking out for, these 10 also hold a lot of promise!
