Bojan Cinotti was happy to see his creation pass its test ride.
“All expectations have been met”, Bojan Cinotti, better known as the kart-racing guy from Šibenik, said referring to the test ride of his e-kart. “We have used the old location of the Dalmare Centre for the test to be able to make a comparison with the well-known kart-racing conditions and the petrol fuelled go-karts… This is something entirely different. This is the future, and it has been increasingly gaining ground in Europe. We have become pioneers in our area by producing the first e-kart in Croatia,” he added, reports mok.hr on June 15, 2016.
Ante Čobanov and Šime Buva, last year’s participants of the Croatian championship, were the drivers during the test ride of the eco-friendly kart. Also on hand were the members of the Innovators Society “Faust Vrančić”.
Cinotti’s e-vehicle is the first of its kind in the country, and it works on batteries which are charged with solar energy. The maximum battery life when the kart is in use is 45 minutes. However, if kids are driving it, the kart can remain on track for up to two hours. As an environmentally friendly vehicle, the e-kart does not create any noise, which is ideal for go-kart tracks located in urban areas and closed venues.
“The idea existed for two years, but it was not easy to find all the needed components here in Croatia”, Cinnoti explains. “In November or December of last year, I have decided to start with the project implementation. The finalisation stage was implemented during the past month and a half. There were some modifications that needed to be done, and some companies from Šibenik participated in this work,” he added.
Cinnoti will not patent the first Croatian e-kart, he pointed out, because something similar already exists in the world, although in a somewhat different shape, plus it will not be so widely used in Croatia.
