This summer, guests will be able to unlock apartment doors with the help of a digital key
Ten days from now, an innovative product will officially be introduced on the market. Created and developed in Istria by the company Intersoft Technologies, the so-called digital key will make lives of countless accommodation providers much easier – just in time for the upcoming tourist season.
As Glas Istre reports on March 1, 2018, this groundbreaking app will enable every apartment owner to unlock doors without having to be physically present at the object, thus allowing the guests to check in on their own. The app is mostly aimed at private accommodation providers, especially those who manage multiple facilities at different locations and cannot always welcome the guests in person.
The digital key was devised by Dean Verbanac of Intersoft Technologies, who reiterated that the product will save its users both time and money. The app is easy to use, installing the device at accommodation objects doesn’t even require basic IT skills, and the cost of installation is minimal.
The entire process is actually very simple, Verbanac said. A small device is installed on the existing locks, namely a cylinder which uses the app to ‘communicate’ with smartphones. Guests will download the app and be provided with information required to unlock the door. “In addition”, said Verbanac, “installation won’t require a change of doors or locks, as the contraption can simply be put up on the existing ones.” This handy system will cost you 2.099 kuna in total, VAT included, with quantity discounts provided for natural persons and a 25% discount available for companies.
“Installation and use of the system are very simple. We send the package, the object owner receives the device and instructions, and the whole thing is literally done by unscrewing a single cylinder bolt”, noted Verbanac, adding they will be offering customer support to those who might end up experiencing some issues during installation.
