Split’s experiment with the Croatian-designed smart benches is attacked by vandals.
It was a genius invention from a young man and some colleagues from nearby Solin, one which has been put into successful operation in Solin for four months now, and already a month in neighbouring Bosnia and Herzegovina (as previously reported on TCN), but the installation of one of Ivan Mrvos’ ‘smart benches’ in Split has had a much more inauspicious start.
Just days after installing the first smart bench – a solar powered invention allowing people to charge their devices and even use it as an Internet hotspot – on Marjan, the bench has been vandalised.
