Innovative wall outlet has two USB ports, a system of signal-LEDs and a charging base.
U:Plug is a Croatian solution that came into being as a result of large amounts of cables, chargers, and sockets that are necessary for a technology-minded person. U:Plug as a company was established a year and a half ago, which is exactly how long the product development lasted, reports Poslovni.hr on April 9, 2016.
The Osijek-based company is focused on innovative solutions, and they keep working on new products and technologies. Ivan Jelušić, the company director, said that the main idea behind the innovation is the efficient usage of the standard single outlet to charge two devices simultaneously, and the addition of the basic 220V connection with some innovative options.
“U:Plug is a wall outlet. Besides the standard 220V connection, it also has two USB ports, a system of signal-LEDs, and a charging base. The product itself is a significant innovation if we consider its design, the way of use and features. We are proud because u:Plug has one of the most advanced electronic solutions for charging mobile devices and it delivers 5V and 2A to each of its USB ports. The LED system signals the charging stage while the stand on the outlet itself keeps the device from damage”, said Jelušić.
The product has been on the market for several months and the company is currently negotiating distribution throughout Europe. They are particularly proud because this is a product fully manufactured and made in Croatia.
“The reaction from our customers is great. Every day I receive several e-mails from satisfied users and this is exactly why we are doing this. We are happy because we have created something that people love to use, and something that is a result of the work done by a small team of young people. Our goal is to reach the distribution amount of 40,000 units annually over the next few years and to expand our line of products in this category”, explained Jelušić.
He added that his great desire was to gather an even larger team of young engineers with whom he would continue to bring innovative products to foreign markets. According to him, such a positive environment will improve the business climate and demonstrate to local investors that it is good to invest in hardware companies. “We are optimistic and we believe that the future will bring more success and new products”, Jelušić said.
