January the 19th, 2025 – A Memorandum has been signed between Croatia and Israel which opens the door for cooperation in a multitude of fields, including IoT, AI, cyber security and 5G.
As Tanja Ivancic/Poslovni Dnevnik writes, a meeting was recently held at the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure with representatives of the Ministry of Communications of the State of Israel. During that meeting, Transport Minister Oleg Butković met with Israeli Communications Minister Shlom Karhi.
As revealed in the statement, “on that occasion, a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of electronic communications and postal services was signed between the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Croatia and the Ministry of Communications of the State of Israel. The aim of the Memorandum is to expand and develop cooperation between the Croatia and Israel in the development of modern electronic communications and postal services.”
Transport Minister Oleg Butković said at that the move represents an important step in strengthening bilateral relations. It also opens the door for proper cooperation between the two countries in the field of electronic communications development, the modernisation of postal services and improvement of technologies such as 5G. “I believe that signing this Memorandum will be the basis for further development and deepening of relations between Croatia and Israel in this key sector in the future,” stated Minister Oleg Butković.
Minister of Communications of the State of Israel Dr. Shlomo Karhi stated that the Memorandum in question paves the way for cooperation between Croatia and Israel in revolutionary areas such as 5G, IoT, ultra-fast Internet, cybersecurity and AI. These are all areas that will boost innovation, security and prosperity of both countries.
“This Memorandum represents a commitment to taking real action, as well as to promote digital transformation, economic opportunities and deeper cultural ties,” concluded Minister Karhi.
