New Fires Break out in Dalmatia

New fires, near Živogošće and Solin, broke out in Dalmatia around midday.

A new fire broke out in the hills above Živogošće, near Makarska around midday, Index.hr reports on August 7.

It is currently unclear how big the fire is, but what we know is that the area affected by the fire is covered with grasslands and low vegetation.
All available Makarska Riviera fire brigades are currently in the field, fighting the blaze.
The County Fire Chief Dražen Glavina said that the fire has been put under control with the help of three Canadairs.
“The Canadairs are here and the fire is under control,” Mr Glavina said.

According to the latest report by HAK, due to fire the traffic is alternately open on the Adriatic road DC8 at Živogošće/Blato.

Another fire broke out around 12:30 between Solin and Kaštela. Vranjic and Solin Fire Brigades are in the field.
