From 7.00 am to 4.30 pm, 37.2 percent of voters came to the polling stations.

At 5 pm, the State Election Commission announced the second round of turnout data for today’s early parliamentary elections. From 7 am, when the polling stations opened, until 4.30 pm, 37.2 percent of voters voted, which is about 9 percent lower turnout than last year.

The highest turnout was recorded in the first constituency (40.1 percent), followed by tenth and seventh, while the lowest turnout is in fifth constituency.

During the day, all the political leaders cast their ballots. Among them was President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović who caused controversy after she was filmed taking a photo of her ballot. While that is not against the law, the State Election Commission yesterday issued a statement calling on voters not to do that, because it is against general rules of the elections.

In some previous cases, some parties allegedly demanded from their members to take photos of ballots to prove that they had voted for the “right” candidates.

The voting will continue until 7 pm, when first exit poll results will be announced.
