Croatian Local Elections – Exit Polls

Total Croatia News

Updated on:

The first exit poll results from Sunday’s second round of local elections.

The polling stations in the second round of the local elections have just closed and here are the first exit polls for four largest towns (Zagreb, Split, Rijeka, Osijek).

Zagreb
Milan Bandić  51.4%
Anka Mrak Taritaš (HNS)  48.6%

Current Mayor Bandić has a slight lead ahead of Mrak Taritaš. Still, this is an unexpectedly tight result, especially after recent problems for the challenger, given the rumours about HNS possibly entering into a coalition with HDZ on the national level.

Split
Željko Kerum  50.8%
Andro Krstulović Opara (HDZ)  49.2%

Split has confirmed its status as the most interesting race this evening. Former Mayor Željko Kerum is ahead by less than two percent ahead of HDZ’s candidate supported strongly by Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.

Rijeka
Vojko Obersnel (SDP)  60%
Hrvoje Burić  40%

Easy and expected victory for long-time Rijeka Mayor in the SDP fortress.

Osijek
Ivan Vrkić  66.7%
Ivana Šojat (HDZ)  33.3%

Independent candidate and current Mayor Vrkić, supported by left parties, cruises to victory.

Pre-election analysis of these and some other races can be found here.

Actual results will be announced starting from 20:00.
