Croatian President to Visit Italy

ZAGREB, May 25, 2018 – President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović will conduct a two-day state visit to Italy next week at the invitation of Italian President Sergio Mattarella, the President’s Office reported on Friday.

The official visit will start on Tuesday, May 29 with a welcome at the Quirinale Palace in Rome, where Grabar-Kitarović will be received by President Mattarella and the two presidents will meet tete-a-tete. This will be followed by a bilateral meeting of the official delegations of the two countries.

Later, President Grabar-Kitarović will meet separately with the President of the Italian Senate Maria Elisabetta Alberti Casellati and the President of the Italian Chamber of Deputies Roberto Fico.

The President will also attend a special programme at the Croatian Embassy to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Croatian language supplementary school and will meet with representatives of the Croatian community in that country.

On the second day of her visit, the President will visit the towns of Aquaviva, Collecroce/Kruč, Tavenna/Tavela, San Felice/Filić, Montemitr/Mundimitar in the Italian province of Molise, where she will meet with representatives of the Croat minority and the mayors and officials of that province.
