ZAGREB, September 10, 2018 – Croatian Foreign Minister Marija Pejčinović Burić will officially visit Washington on Tuesday and Wednesday, and meet with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
On Tuesday, Pejčinović Burić will speak at a round table organised by the Atlantic Council on Croatia’s views on how to ensure a strong and successful European Union.
On Wednesday, she will meet with Pompeo. The Croatian and US foreign ministers have not met bilaterally since Vesna Pusić and Hillary Clinton did in 2012.
Pejčinović Burić will also hold talks with Mira Ricardel, deputy national security advisor to President Donald Trump; Ron Johnson, chairman of the Senate Subcommittee on Europe; and the co-chairs of the Congressional Croatian Caucus, David Joyce and Nanette Barragan.
The Croatian minister will also give a talk, “Reinforcing Our Transatlantic Alliance: Croatia’s Contributions and Ideas”, organised by the Heritage Foundation.
