February the 28th, 2024 – Agrokor’s former main man Ivica Todorić has done what he always claimed he would – form a political party. Now he says he’ll stop at nothing less than becoming prime minister.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, regardless of whether it’s a positive or (overwhelmingly) negative thing, few are more intimately familiar with the tie between politics and the economy in Croatia than Ivica Todorić. He follows the situation closely and doesn’t hesitate for a second when highlighting who he thinks the best finance minister that Croatia ever had was. Ironically, that name isn’t Zdravko Marić, who also got caught up in the complicated Agrokor saga that dominated 2017, writes N1.

“Boris Lalovac. If I could, I’d make him a minister on the spot. He was inside it all, watching how it all unfolded the whole time. I can’t say the same about Marić, meaning, I can’t exactly say what kind of minister he was, he was at the will of the governor, and the governor is most responsible for the disaster we’ve got on our hands now. Plenković doesn’t understand that.”

In the end, he said that now he has finally formed his political party, after winning, he would become Prime Minister. He also listed who he wouldn’t ever cooperate with politically.

“Nothing else even comes into it. We’ll have more mandates than HDZ have. People have been calling me me, we’ve registered so many people in just two days, it’s one movement. We need to be in this together. I’ll tell you one thing, the rule of law has gone to hell here… I wouldn’t ever cooperate with thieves, traitors and criminals. I would gladly get involved with everyone else. I’m convinced that there are honest people in HDZ, but that party will fall apart, Plenković has destroyed it, like he destroys everything else he touches. He failed to destroy SDP, though. People are not aware of what strength I have and what I can do for this country,” Ivica Todorić stated.
