ZAGREB, June 23, 2018 – Japan’s Coast Guard training vessel Kojima, which is visiting the Croatian Navy, was opened for visitors in Split’s Lora military port on Friday.
The Kojima sailed into Lora on Thursday and will stay there until the 25th, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Japan-Croatia diplomatic relations, the Croatian Defence Ministry said in a press release.
The vessel’s commander, Captain Hironobu Tonozaki, and Japanese Ambassador Keiji Takiguchi were received separately by Split’s city and county officials.
The captain said Split was the only European port in which the Kojima docked on its trip around the world.
The Kojima has a crew of 80, including 40 cadets. It is 115 metres long, 14 m wide and a draft of 5.9 m.
The Japanese guests met with representatives of the Croatian Navy and Coast Guard.
