ZAGREB, February 23, 2018 – Maltese President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca will pay a two-day visit to Croatia at the beginning of next week, at the invitation of her Croatian counterpart Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, the Croatian President’s Office announced on Friday.
The visit begins on Monday with a tete-a-tete meeting between the two presidents, which will be followed by a meeting between the two countries’ delegations.
On the first day of the visit, the Maltese president will lay a wreath at the monument to Croatian soldiers and civilians killed in the 1991-1995 Homeland War at the Mirogoj Cemetery.
After that, Ms Coleiro Preca is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandroković, and attend a Croatian-Maltese business forum. She is due to attend the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Croatian Chamber of Economy and the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry.
On Tuesday, the Maltese president is scheduled to visit the Ruđer Bošković Institute and meet with its acting director, Stjepko Fazinić, and the president of the Croatian Association for Cancer Research, Sonja Levanat.
