HDZ’s chances for coalition reshuffle get slimmer.
Miroslav Šimić, chairman of the MOST Parliamentary Group, said on Thursday morning, before the debate on the motion of no confidence against Prime Minister Tihomir Orešković began, that MOST would not participate in any reshuffle of ruling coalition and would instead support early parliamentary elections being called, reports Index.hr on June 16, 2016.
He showed to journalists the signatures of 12 MOST’s MPs in support of dissolution of Parliament, which would be officially submitted if Parliament does indeed bring down the government of Prime Minister Tihomir Orešković.
“There is little chance that the debate could be abandoned, which we would like to see happen. If they do not change their minds, MOST has made its decision. We will not participate in any coalition reshuffle, but we will support new parliamentary elections”, said Šimić. “This is what could happen today if this debate goes in the direction that is expected, which means that the motion of no confidence against the Prime Minister would be adopted.”
Asked if anyone from HDZ tried to contact MOST since Wednesday afternoon, Šimić replied that he had no such contacts and added that he expected Thursday to be “a very difficult day”.
