ZAGREB, March 3, 2018 – President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović on Friday received NATO’s Special Operations Headquarters Commander, Vice Admiral Colin Kilrain, and the two officials discussed security issues and the situation in Southeast Europe, a press release from the President’s Office said.
During the meeting, the two officials exchanged opinions on the most significant security challenges and threats to NATO and the role of NSHQ special forces in providing support for countries faced with those challenges.
Special attention was devoted to security challenges in Southeast Europe and the need to strengthen the involvement of international stakeholders in combating destabilising impacts, the press release said.
Admiral Kilrain underscored the role of Croatia’s special forces in allied activities, their readiness and preparedness, and rated them with the highest grade, the statement said.
