SDP and regional party IDS lead in Istria and Rijeka.
RTL and Jutarnji List have continued with their poll of ten parliamentary constituencies. On Thursday evening, they announced the results of the poll for eighth electoral constituency, which covers Istria, Rijeka and surrounding areas, reports RTL on August 25, 2016.
At last year’s elections, the SDP-led Croatia Is Growing coalition won 37.7 percent of the vote, followed by Istrian regional party IDS (19.8 percent), the HDZ-led Patriotic Coalition (17.5 percent), MOST (10.5 percent), and Živi Zid (5.2 perent). As for parliamentary seats, SDP coalition won 7 seats, IDS 3 seats, HDZ coalition 3 seats, and MOST 1 seat.
According to the poll, about 58 percent of voters will definitely or probably vote. Among those who will vote, SDP coalition has the support of 35.4 percent of voters, followed by IDS (16.8 percent), HDZ (16.4 percent), MOST (5.4 percent) and Živi Zid (4.8 percent). SDP coalition would get 7 seats in Parliament, IDS 3 seats, HDZ 3 seats and MOST 1 seat. The distribution of seats is the same as after the last year’s elections.
Respondents were also asked who would be the best Prime Minister. SDP president Zoran Milanović has the largest support (40.4 percent), HDZ president Andrej Plenković is second (16.0 percent), followed by Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandić (6.1 percent), and MOST leader Božo Petrov (4.9 percent).
After polls conducted in four of ten parliamentary constituencies, HDZ has the same number of seats as in last Parliament, SDP coalition has two seats more and MOST has two seats less.
The poll was conducted before the latest affair with recordings of meeting between Zoran Milanović and veterans’ representatives, in which Milanović spoke harshly about Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. It remains to be seen whether the recordings will have an impact on his popularity.
