Real estate magnate Robert Kohorst will replace diplomat Julieta Valls-Noyes as the US ambassador to Croatia
US president Donald Trump is about to nominate Robert Kohorst as the new US ambassador to Croatia, reports Politico on September 2, 2017.
The real estate magnate is thus to replace the current US ambassador, diplomat Julieta Valls Noyes, as soon as his nomination is confirmed by the Senate.
President and founder of Everest Properties, Kohorst also holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan and a B.S. in accounting from the University of Dayton. In 1991, he co-founded KH financial, Inc., a company that later expanded to become Everest Properties.
According to Jutarnji, there is not much information available on Kohorst’s personal relation to President Trump, apart from him being a member of the board that was in charge of raising funds during presidential transition back in December 2016.
President Trump also nominated former US spokesman at the UN Richard Grenell as ambassador to Germany, retired Admiral Edward Masso as ambassador to Estonia, and president of a lobby firm Edward McMullen as ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
